Our Story – A Legacy Reimagined
I Can Foundation – Vadodara is a continuation of a journey that began over 15 years ago in my own home, under the inspiring name of my grand grandmother Smt. Ramaben Jamnadas Doshi Charitable Trust. Led with compassion and selfless service by my Father, Grandfather, Mother and Grandmother, the trust worked tirelessly to support the underserved and uplift our community through heartfelt, sustainable action. Their work—rooted in empathy and dignity—touched countless lives and was honored nationally with the “Mother Teresa Excellence Award” in 2010 for outstanding contributions to society.
As a child growing up around these acts of kindness, I witnessed firsthand the true meaning of service. I saw how a single home-cooked meal could restore hope, how education could open unseen doors for children, and how empowering women could strengthen entire communities. These experiences didn’t just shape who I am—they became the foundation of my purpose. Deeply inspired by the values instilled in me, I felt a calling to continue this legacy with renewed vision and youthful energy. In 2023, at the age of 21, I formally launched I Can Foundation – Vadodara, giving a fresh identity to the same deep-rooted commitment my family had nurtured for years.
The name “I Can” symbolizes not only my personal commitment, but also the empowering belief I want to instill in everyone we touch: that they, too, can overcome limitations, rise with dignity, and thrive with purpose. My vision for this foundation is to build a world where every human being—regardless of their background—has access to opportunity, support, and a fair chance at life. I imagine a future where no child is held back due to lack of education, no mother is left to recover in weakness, no elder feels forgotten, and every individual feels seen, heard, and respected.
At the core of my mission is a desire to serve with compassion, act with integrity, and empower individuals and families through dignity-driven initiatives. Whether it’s nourishing the hungry, providing clean clothing for newborns, supporting postnatal mothers with vital nutrition, or building platforms where young minds can learn and lead—every program under I Can Foundation – Vadodara is designed to be thoughtful, inclusive, and impactful. I believe that real change comes from meaningful connections and consistent efforts, not grand gestures. That’s why we focus on sustainable solutions—like vocational training for women, scholarships for students, health initiatives, cultural preservation, and crisis relief—that don’t just provide temporary aid, but create long-term transformation.
To me, charity isn’t about giving from abundance—it’s about recognizing that we all belong to one human family, and with a little effort and empathy, we can uplift one another. I am committed to growing this foundation with innovation and authenticity, using technology, partnerships, and grassroots engagement to maximize our reach and deepen our impact.
I Can Foundation is not just the next chapter in my family’s legacy—it is a bold step into the future, a promise to carry forward their values in a way that speaks to today’s challenges and tomorrow’s hopes. Together, with the support of kind hearts, passionate volunteers, and conscious citizens, I believe we can build a more compassionate and equitable world—one where everyone, regardless of circumstance, has the confidence to say: “Yes, I Can.”
With gratitude and hope,
Mr. Harsh Doshi.
